Brazilian agricultural cooperative giant Copacol is aiming to increase production in 2021 by a well over a quarter to 45,000 metric tons, helped by growing demand from domestic retailers, according to Valdemir Paulino dos Santos, an executive at the firm.

Dos Santos, who made the projection during a webinar last week, expects production to come in at around 35,000 metric tons in 2020.

The expansion is driven by growing retail sales on the Brazilian domestic market and underpinned by an expansion of the company's processing capacity and its roster of small scale producers.
