Marine researchers in Norway have advised the government to continue to protect cod spawning grounds along the entire coast against cod farming and to consider restrictions on migration and live storage.
A report by the Norwegian Institute of Marine Research, commissioned by the Directorate of Fisheries in light of recent investments in cod farming, advises that measures are particularly important in inland fjords with small and vulnerable coastal cod stocks.
