Pollock prices have plummeted over the last year, falling by up to 50 percent and placing a big question mark over the market.

The dramatic drop can be blamed on a number of things, but executives tell IntraFish there is reason to believe thing will start to turn around come year end.

US pinbone out (PBO) pollock fillet block prices have dropped substantially from 2022's record $5,000 (€4,576) per metric ton. They now largely sit below $4,000 (€3,758).

US producers continue to point to an overload of twice-frozen product from Russia as the main cause of the price downturn.
