With prices at 15-year highs and inflation weighing heavily on consumers, Alaska pollock producers still expect record prices to continue throughout the "B" season, which officially kicks off June 10.
Pinbone-out (PBO) fillet block prices are likely to go beyond the $5,000 (€4,543) mark, several Alaska pollock producers told IntraFish.
"I’ve been talking with sales guys and we will see PBO block above $5,000 (€4,666) and probably $5,100 (€4,759) or more for 'B' season," an executive with a company operating several pollock vessels in Alaska told IntraFish.
