Thai Union-owned King Oscar has launched its first tuna products into the United States, a move the top US executive said could lead to "meteoric sales levels" for the brand.

The yellowfin tuna fillets are aiming for a high-end shopper in the traditionally flat category. The items, packed in glass jars, are paired with gourmet condiments, marinated in 100-percent extra virgin olive oil, herbs and spices, the company said.

The products are being sold through traditional retail channels, John Engle, president of King Oscar USA, told IntraFish.
