A US bankruptcy judge has approved a payment agreement plan between beleaguered tuna giant Bumble Bee and Taiwan-based FCF. As of December, Bumble Bee owes FCF around $51 million (€46 million) for albacore tuna purchases, an amount the companies said should prioritize FCF as a "critical vendor" in Bumble Bee's bankruptcy case.

US Bankruptcy Judge Laurie Silverstein disagreed with that stipulation, and ruled on Dec. 27 she would approve a payment plan that would allow Bumble Bee to pay FCF just over $43 million (€38 million) by January 31.
