Conflicting official numbers showing a sharp decline in UK seafood exports to the EU are sparking confusion over just how much trade between the two areas has declined since the UK officially left the bloc on Dec. 31.

The Food and Drink Federation, a UK trade association, recently published numbers showing fish exports down 79 percent to £25.2 million (€29.2 million/$34.5 million), with salmon exports declining a stunning 98 percent to just £500,000 (€579,251/$684,845).
