Norway recorded its highest ever export volumes of salmon in October, but prices slipped during the month on reduced demand from foodservice channels and China.

Norway exported 120,000 metric tons of salmon worth NOK 6.5 billion (€593 million/$695.1 million) in October. Export volumes rose by 4 percent.

Converted into whole fish, the volume amounted to 138,674 metric tons, which is the highest export volume for a single month, said the Norwegian Seafood Council (NSC).
