Schwarz Group, Europe's largest retailer, is following in the footsteps of other multinationals by halting the sourcing of Russian products for their two German supermarket brands Lidl and Kaufland.

A spokesperson told IntraFish the company's German stores stock very few Russian products, but those that they do are not being re-ordered.

The spokesperson did not clarify if this also applies to stores in other locations, or if this only applied to products coming direct from Russia.

"Items that are already available for purchase will not be destroyed and any leftover stocks will be sold off for the time being," they said.
