Russia’s aquaculture output climbed 5.8 percent in the first half of the year to reach 228,000 metric tons, according to Russian federal fishery agency Rosrybolovstvo.

Farmed salmon and trout production jumped 19.5 percent to 95,000 metric tons, making up around 41 percent of the country’s overall aquaculture production.

The farming of oysters, mussels, scallops and other mollusks rose 8 percent to 65,400 metric tons.
