Norway-based investor Bluefront Equity's acquisition of tech company Seacloud is part of a bet the fund is placing on digitalization and the central role it will play in salmon farming in the future.
Bluefront Equity on Friday announced it reached a deal to acquire a 51 percent stake in Seacloud, which has developed cloud computing and machine-learning software to aggregate data for the aquaculture and maritime sectors.
Bluefront co-founder Kjetil Haga said he believes aquaculture industry is finally ready to make use of aggregated data in their decision making in a much bigger way.
