Chilean feed producer Salmofood is developing a project aimed at forecasting future outbreaks of harmful algal blooms and estimating sea lice and Salmonid Rickettsial Septicaemia (SRS) levels in areas in and around production sites.

The project, overseen by Salmofood, a division of Vitapro and backed by state development corporation Corfo Salmofood, aims to help reduce treatment costs, biomass losses and prevent the unnecessary release of pharmaceutical residues.
