Cermaq's iFarm salmon project will go ahead with four licences in Steigen, Norway, after it failed to get approval for the 10 licences it originally applied for.

The NOK 580 million (€57.7 million/$64.3 million) project will launch next month, with the first fish to be transfered to the system in fall of next year.

"This is the best Christmas present we could get," said Cermaq's Fish Health Manager Karl Fredrik Ottem, who will lead the iFarm project.
