Norwegian technology provider Laksesystemer and Canadian AI solution provider ReelData Inc. have entered into a joint venture partnership to provide feed systems for land-based aquaculture.

The companies will use ReelData’s ReelAppetite autonomous appetite adjustment system, which they say accurately identifies real time fish feeding needs and adjusts feed levels accordingly to maximize biomass while limiting waste.

Laksesystemer develops automated tank feeders, camera systems and silo systems for regulating feed volumes.

Backed by venture capital firm S2G Ventures, ReelData is rapidly scaling to help land-based aquaculture farms reach their full potential with AI-aided technologies, the company said.
