Leading fisheries researcher Ray Hilborn is blasting the makers of the new Netflix documentary 'Seaspiracy' in a new video he recorded and released April 1 on YouTube.

Hilborn, a marine biologist and distinguished fisheries scientist at the University of Washington in Seattle, begins the video asserting the film falls short of being a documentary. "It's a propaganda film made by vegan activists."

"It contains more lies than a Donald Trump press conference," he adds.

In addition, on Hilborn's website, sustainable fisheries-uw.org, in affiliation with the University of Washington, Emily De Sousa, a fisheries scientist based in Niagara, Ontario, published a lengthy article, "The Science of Seaspiracy," debunking many of the assertions in the film.
