Some of Alaska's most important crab fisheries could be downgraded by the Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch program, according to recommendations contained in a draft report.

The report, which has been in development for nearly two years, is not final and the recommendations could change, but according to the most recently published draft, the NGO is recommending golden king crab caught off the Aleutian Islands and Southeast Alaska, and southern tanner crab harvested in Southeast Alaska be red listed and added to the group's "Avoid" list.
