Alternative proteins are a growing pillar in seafood giant Thai Union’s sustainability strategy, and the company is planning on leaning in to the trend for both its shrimp farming operations and new consumer products.

Among its most ambitious work is its long-stated goal to move away from wild-caught, uncertified ingredients in its shrimp feed, with some projects exploring eliminating wild-caught feed altogether, Roxanne Nanninga, director of sustainability for Thai Union North America, told IntraFish.
