The US canned tuna market is dominated by the so-called Big 3 brands -- Bumble Bee, Starkist and Chicken of the Sea. But, as with any market, niche players can find their own space.

Netherland-based sustainable seafood company Fish Tales is doing just that, working its way into the crowded US canned tuna market with new listing in major US retailers Walmart, Costco, Meijer and Whole Foods Market.

The company's products will be on Walmart store shelves in September and in Costco in November, Fish Tales co-founder Bart van Olphen told IntraFish.
