The United Kingdom's Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals' (RSPCA) farm-animal welfare program RSPCA Assured is investigating several Scottish salmon farming sites, following a recent complaint by activist group Scottish Salmon Watch.

Scottish Salmon Watch, an anti-salmon farming group, posted a series of photos and videos on its website and social media showing what it claimed are farmed salmon and sea-lice eating cleaner fish with high lice loads and deformities, as well as mortalities in netpens.

Scottish Salmon Watch Director Don Staniford claimed the videos and photos were taken at farms certified by welfare standards group RSPCA Assured and allegedly operated by Norwegian salmon farming giant Mowi.
