Norway is hoping to regain its Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certification for its inshore cod fishery by the start of the 2023 winter season, if all goes to plan.

The fishery lost its MSC credentials in August, leaving roughly 264,000 metric tons of cod without the sustainability label -- a major hole in the global supply of MSC-certified whitefish.
