The re-certification of the Norwegian offshore cod fishery to the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) standard -- which was due to be renewed on Monday -- has been delayed after the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) filed an objection to the fishery's certificate.

While the objection is considered, the MSC certificate will be extended until at least May 3, 2021.

This delay came as a slight reprieve for the inshore cod fishery, which is due to lose its MSC credentials as soon as the offshore fishery is re-certified.
