The fate of the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certifications of several Russian fisheries remains unknown as nations, companies and other organizations invoke sanctions against the country for its invasion of Ukraine.
The MSC declined to give a definitive answer on the possible revocation of the certifications, but told IntraFish on Wednesday it is continuing to monitor and assess the situation.
"Like many organizations, we are trying to work out what these fast-moving events mean for our work on sustainable fishing in Russia," MSC spokesperson Jackie Marks told IntraFish.
