Chilean farmed salmon producer Blumar will first focus on recovering salmon following the massive escape from one of its sites on June 28, and then turn its attention to getting re-certified by the Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC), the company told IntraFish.

Nearly 900,000 fish could have escaped after a storm battered a site belonging to Blumar in the Los Lagos region.

"The company is focused in on the recovery processes of escaped salmon as well as in the detection and recovery of the sunken module with biomass," Daniel Montoya sales and marketing director at Blumar, told IntraFish.
