Continued strong demand from the United States lifted Ecuador's shrimp exports in October to 31.5 million pounds.

Shipments to the United States were 45 percent above the same month last year as the recovery in foodservice boosts demand.

In the first 10 months of this year, exports to the US market surpassed every corresponding month of 2020.

Year to date, shipments to Ecuador's North American neighbor were 50 percent ahead of the same point in 2020, at 331 million pounds.
