On the shores of the river Tiligul estuary, near the small village of Progresivka in southern Ukraine, you'll find Europe's largest shrimp farming operation.

The industrial park where the operation is situated -- not far from the port city of Odesa and nearby Mykolaiv -- made it a perfect location for the recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) farm.

The facility, which has the capacity to produce 500 metric tons, has a hatchery, growout facility, processing area and a nearby feed mill -- everything it needs for end-to-end production of vannamei shrimp.
