The lack of the transparency in the global farmed shrimp industry is causing preventable disasters, according to CP Foods Vice President Robins McIntosh.

"I think one of the biggest disappointments I have in the industry today is loss of transparency," he told IntraFish as Thailand, once a shrimp farming powerhouse, again sinks into a quagmire of disease and high mortalities.

"In the 90s, when white spot hit, everybody raised their hand when they got infected and it was a community effort," he said.
