Ecuadorian shrimp producer and packer Empacreci plans to serve markets in the Americas, Europe and and Asia from its newly launched value-added products processing plant.

The $4 million (€3.5 million) plant, with an annual production capacity of 8,160 metric tons, is situated in Duran, in the Guayas province in southwestern Ecuador.

Empacreci ships to more than 25 countries across North America, Europe and Asia, marketing whole shrimp blocks, headless and peeled and deveined products.

The new plant will ship to markets in the United States, Chile, Uruguay, Europe and South Korea, a company official told IntraFish.
