Ecuador's shrimp exports to China continued to claw back lost ground in March but shipments are still far off the 116 million-pound record set in May last year.

Shipments to China -- by far Ecuador's largest market -- climbed 32 percent compared with February, to 55.8 million pounds, the second consecutive month-over-month increase, but were down 15 percent against March 2020.

Exporters have suffered fluctuating fortunes over the past 11 months for a variety of reasons.
