Ecuadorian global farmed shrimp exports increased 19 percent to 1.34 billion pounds in the first six months of 2023, putting the industry on course for another record year for shipments overseas.
Ecuador exports as much as 99 percent of its shrimp production. Exports last year hit a record 2.34 billion pounds worth over $6.6 billion (€6 billion)
Export numbers continue to boosted by a rebound in shipments to China following the global COVID-19 pandemic.
