Indian shrimp supplier Kader Exports is recalling batches of shrimp branded under the names

Aqua Star Reserve, Censea, Fresh Market, Costco's Kirkland brand, Tops, Unistar and Wellsley Farms over salmonella fears, the US Drug and Food Administration (FDA) reported Aug. 12.

The recalled products come in various forms including frozen, cooked, peeled and de-veined shrimp sold in 1, 1.5 and 2-pound retail bags, which were distributed between February and May.

So far, no reports have circulated associated with the cooked shrimp distributions. However, some cooked shrimp imported by Kader Exports tested positive for salmonella.

The FDA said the root cause for the call is potentially related to cross-contamination.
