Chinese customs authorities have slapped another import suspension on shrimp products from Ecuadorian producer Empacreci, after traces of COVID-19 were found on packaging samples.

It is the second time in 20 months that Empracreci has received such a sanction from China, which is sticking rigidly to a zero tolerance policy for COVID-19.

Chinese customs authorities said they found 14 outer packaging samples and two inner packaging samples of 11 batches of frozen vannamei shrimp imported from Ecuador that tested positive for the new coronavirus nucleic acid.
