Ecuador's shrimp producers may have to overhaul their growth forecasts this year unless there is a rise in prices.

That's the view of Rodrigo Laniado, CEO of Ecuadorian shrimp producer Songa, which exported 52,000 metric tons (114,608 pounds) of the crustacean in 2019.

"If prices do not improve, everyone has to change their growth expectations for 2020," Laniado told IntraFish.

"At current price levels, some farms are already losing money."
