Vitapro-owned shrimp feed producer Nicovita said it will invest more than $80 million (€72 million) to build a new shrimp feed production plant in Ecuador.

The move will boost Nicovita's production capacity by more than 45 percent.

Last year, the South America-based feed producer announced it would separately invest $35 million (€29 million) to expand capacity at its plants in Ecuador and Peru.

Nicovita said the latest investment reaffirms its belief in the potential of the industry.
