Hema, the Chinese hybrid retailer owned by Alibaba, has put its first homegrown shrimp on sale, according to Chinese news reports.
The product, vannamei shrimp, is being sold under the brand "Hetian shrimp" and is understood to represent Hema's first factory farming project, creating a closed-loop model for the production, distribution and the sale of live shrimp.
