Seafood company executives drafting their budgets for packaging in 2022 can expect continued supply chain disruption and higher costs, though just how much it will take off the bottom line remains to be seen, experts say.

Gonzalo Campos, seafood sector leader for Europe at Sealedair, one of the largest suppliers of packaging to the industry, said that while companies like his are doing all they can to minimize the impact of external pressures, supply shortages are a problem.

"So far the pace and frequency of this disruption and pricing actions from the suppliers are still bringing uncertainty on future price increases," he told IntraFish.
