Salmon farmer Bakkafrost is still looking for the perfect plane

Bakkafrost surprised many people when it announced recently it would buy its own aircraft.

The company, the only salmon farmer that has ever invested in such a purchase, justified its decision by saying it would improve the availability and the price of transporting salmon to the United States, its highest value market.

Additionally, it said it would reduce its transport-related greenhouse gas emissions compared to shipping the fish using other aircraft via London's Heathrow airport.
