Shipping rates on key routes from China to Europe and the United States have fallen over the past week, bringing a little more relief to seafood exporters, according to the latest bulletin from shipping sector analysts Drewry.
Rates per 40-foot equivalent unit container (feu) from Shanghai to Rotterdam are down 4 percent from last week at $9,240 (€8,889), while rates for containers going in the opposite direction were down 1 percent to $1,402 (€1,340).
Shipping rates from Shanghai to Los Angeles are down 4 percent to $7,652 (€7,361).
