Shipping rates on key routes from China to Europe and the United States fell again this past week, lifting a little more pressure off the budgets of seafood exporters, according to the latest bulletin from shipping sector analysts Drewry.

Rates per 40-foot equivalent unit container (feu) from Shanghai to Rotterdam are down 4 percent from last week at $8,939 (€8,782), while rates for containers going in the opposite direction were flat at $1,199 (€1,177).

Shipping rates from Shanghai to Los Angeles are down 3 percent to $6,985 (€6,862).
