Land-based salmon farmer Proximar Seafood's first salmon now weigh 80 grams, and the company expects to harvest this first batch of fish late next year despite some fish mortality during the quarter.

The Japan-based company's operating loss increased from NOK 7.6 million (€658,000/$715,000) to NOK 13.6 million (€1.2 million/$1.3 million) during the second quarter, compared to the same period last year.

The increase is partly due to growing operations, including more staff, the company said in its second quarter update.
