Smaller salmon farmers might agree the Norwegian government's recently imposed ground rent tax is "madness", but they also think a court case, as proposed by production giant Mowi, could do damage to their segment of the industry.
"Such a court case will not benefit small players like us," Tore Lundberg, general manager of family-owned Gratanglaks, told IntraFish. "The introduction of the ground rent tax was madness, we agree there. [But] the bottom deduction gives us small players compensation for all the advantages the big ones have, he said.
