The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has awarded Trident Seafoods the majority of a nearly $7.9 million (€7.5 million) contract to distribute canned pink salmon as well as wild frozen salmon fillets to the agency's National School Lunch Program and Federal Food and Nutrition Assistance programs across the United States.
The USDA has asked Trident to distribute 65,360 cases of canned pink salmon to programs across the United States. The company was also awarded a bid to distribute 281,360 pounds of wild frozen salmon fillets, with the contract for both product forms totaling just over $7.2
