The battle to overturn the Norwegian government's proposed controversial tax increase on salmon and trout farmers has already begun, with Helge Andre Njastad from Norway's right wing Progress Party (FrP) meeting with Mowi CEO Ivan Vindheim late last week to discuss the situation.

The Norwegian government is proposing the introduction of a new 40 percent resource tax on salmon and trout farming for larger companies.

The proposed tax, which must still be approved by the Norwegian Parliament, is set to take effect on Jan.
