Norwegian salmon farmers celebrated record earnings in the second quarter of the year almost entirely due to sky-high salmon prices, but it was different story for processors in Europe who had to buy the fish.
“Back then it was very bad with sky-high, rocketing prices and we were not able to put the prices through to our customers," an executive at one major European salmon processor told IntraFish.
