Scottish salmon farmers have so far escaped the worst of the heatwave that has scorched large parts of the United Kingdom and sparked fires across parts of London, southern England and even Wales.

Temperatures breached the 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) mark for the first time ever in England, and the government issued an unprecedented red warning over the heat.

Further north over the Scottish border, where temperatures also hit a record high 34.8 degrees Celsius Tuesday, salmon farmers have so far been unscathed, however.
