The company building Scotland’s first semi-closed salmon farm is facing unexpected pushback from local authorities who want the project scrapped.

Officers from the Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park are recommending the park board refuse Loch Long Salmon’s plans for the farm in located in Loch Long.

Loch Long Salmon says the recommendation runs counter to a key aim of the park’s own partnership plan to "address national priorities and achieve benefits for Scotland beyond the national park boundaries."
