Chilean salmon producers are reporting a sharp increase in prices in the US market as the economy opens up, a trend lifted by a delayed wild salmon season and the upcoming 4th of July holiday.

Producers now put D-Trim salmon prices (FOB Miami airport) in a range between $4.50-4.60 (€4.01-4.10) per pound after seeing them drop as low as $3.20 (€2.85) per pound.

Supplies into the US market overwhelmed demand as foodservice businesses collapsed when restaurants, bars and cafes closed under strict lockdown measures aimed at preventing contagion.
