Salmon farming giant Mowi confirmed Friday that it lost nearly 252,000 fish at two marine sites off the coast of Newfoundland, Canada earlier this year.

In total, the company lost around 251,913 between both sites --122,323 from the Chaleur Bay site and the rest from its Friar Cove site, it said in a news release Nov. 26.

Earlier this month, Mowi confirmed that sea lice caused mortalities at a third site in the region.
