Chilean salmon farmer AquaChile is trialing a new air route for salmon shipments from Puerto Natales to Los Angeles as the producer looks to sharpen its marketing strategy on the US West Coast.

Salmon being shipped via the route are destined for retail foodservice and other distributors.

The Miami airport has traditionally served as the gateway into the US market for salmon producers, but the launch of the new route allows AquaChile executives to weigh their options more closely over the coming months.
