Norway's Salmon Evolution has begun a feasibility study into a smolt site in Jeungseon and a growout location in Yangyang, both on South Korea's northeast coast, following its deal with Korean seafood giant Dongwon to kick start land-based salmon production in the country.
In February, Salmon Evolution, a land-based salmon farming business with its first production facility under construction in western Norway, signed a joint venture agreement with Dongwon for the establishment of its 20,000-metric-ton salmon farm in South Korea.
