Russia’s second-largest farmed Atlantic salmon producer has completed its first harvest in more than 2.5 years and a series of financial challenges that hit the company.

Murmansk-based Russian Salmon produced 7,000 metric tons of farmed salmon at its four farms in the Pechenga and Malaya Volokalaya fjords.

“We are having plans to raise the company’s production up to 12,000 metric tons by spring next year,” Pavel Tikhonov, general director at Russian Salmon, told IntraFish at this week's IV Global Fishery Forum and Seafood Expo.
